International College Organizes Rod Nam Dam Hua Ceremony for Songkran 2017

On Wednesday, 12 April 2017, Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC) organized a Rod Nam Dam Hua ceremony to celebrate Songkran 2017 on the 9th floor of the Information Center Building. Rod Nam Dam Hua is a Thai traditional water blessing ceremony that loosely translates as “pouring water over the hands of elders to ask for forgiveness and blessing”. This event is held annually at KKUIC in order to celebrate and preserve one of Thailand’s most important cultural traditions. Professor Dr. La-orsri Sanoamuang, Dean of KKUIC, opened the ceremony with a speech about Rod Nam Dam Hua and its historical importance as part of the traditional Thai New Year’s celebration. This year’s event was attended by KKUIC administrators, faculty, staff, and students, and a happy and festive time was enjoyed by all
