The English for Specific Academic Purposes (ESAP) are designed for students who need to improve their English-language skills and plan to continue their study at a university level. The aim of the course is to improve the English language proficiency of students who have been identified as having a low level of English attainment, so that by the end of the course, they can actively participate in mainstream university courses to an international standard.
Students are to successfully demonstrate the following English language and study skills:
1.1 Students who finish ESAP in the summer and have an Exit Test score from 0% – 49%, will study ESAP1 course for 135 hours during the first semester. (The class schedule will be announced later on www.ic.kku.ac.th)
1.2 This course provides General English for the first 70 hours and the proceeding 65 hours is Academic English. All four skills will be covered in each class, as following the Communicative Language Teaching style.
1.3 After the 135 hours of study, the students will take the ESAP1 Exit test, and the criteria of the test results are:

0% – 49% | Study ESAP1 course in the next semester and register for three KKUIC General Education courses, which will be suggested in the announcement of the exit test results. |
50% – 79% | Study ESAP2 course in the next semester and register for three KKUIC General Education courses, which will be suggested in the announcement of the exit test results. |
80% – 100% | Exit ESAP and register for the regular courses of the next semester listed in their programs. |
1.4 The cost of 135 hours of ESAP1 course is 18,000 baht. (not including textbooks)
1.5 In case students cannot pass the ESAP courses in a summer semester, they need to enroll the courses in regular semesters (the first or second semesters) without any payment because it will be included in the tuition fee.
2.1 Students who finish ESAP2 in the summer and have an Exit Test score from 50% – 79%, will study ESAP2 course in the first semester. (The class schedule will be announced later on www.ic.kku.ac.th).
2.2 This course will provide General English for the first 70 hours and the proceeding 65 hours will be Academic English. All four skills will be covered in each class, as following the Communicative Language Teaching style.
2.3 After the 135 hours of study, the students will take the ESAP2 Exit test, and the criteria of the test results are:

2.4 The cost of 135 hours of ESAP2 course is 18,000 baht. (not including textbooks)
2.5 In case students cannot pass the ESAP courses in a summer semester, they need to enroll the courses in regular semesters (the first or second semesters) without any payment because it will be included in the tuition fee.
3.1 Students who study an ESAP course and have the Exit Test score from 80% – 100%, will exit the ESAP course.
3.2 Students who do not pass the exit test of the last ESAP course in each academic year, they need to contact KKUIC staff, where each student will be considered on an individual basis, and given suggestions on the options and what courses they may study next.

2. One photo sized 3×4 cms with neither hat or sunglasses and taken no longer than 6 months. Clearly state names and schools on the back side of each photo. Stickers or scanned photos are not allowed.
3. A copy of ID card or Alien certificate or Passport and
4. A copy of Housing registration(Thai applicants only) and
5. A copy of High school transcript or course comparison certificate from a secondary education institution and
6. A copy of High school diploma or graduation certificate or
7. A copy of legalizing name change certificate (if any)
