EXPERIENCE LEARNING PROGRAM

CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION

Description

Cooperative Education is a senior level compulsory course which takes 9 credit hours. In this course, students are given the opportunity to be full time job-trainees with collaborating organizations, either domestically or internationally, and conduct their senior research project under supervisions of both their job supervisors and KKUIC advisors. The cooperative education period usually takes place during the first semester of the 4th year of study.

Qualifications

1. Be at the senior level (3rd year or above).2. Complete 30 credits of General Education courses before registering the course.3. Complete 99 credits of overall courses before registering the course.4. Attain a minimum of 2.0 GPA before registering the course.5. Internship placements and durations must be officially approved by KKUIC.6. A minimum GPA may be varied (depending on the study program’s requirement) in order to ensure student’s abilities to independently conduct their own research paper at distance.

Application

Students can pick up the application form at KKUIC Student Development officers. This application takes place during their 3rd year, semester 2.

Eligibility

1) Applicants must enroll as students of KKUIC partner universities.

2) For applicants who non-English speaking countries they should submit a copy of standardized English test score *(See Note), or submit a language certificate from your home university, or be recommended by their home-university academic advisors.

3) Applicants who do not meet the above qualifications will be considered with the discretion of KKUIC administrative committee on a case by case basis.

1. One photo sized 2.5×3.25 cm with neither hat nor sunglasses and taken no longer than 6 months.

2. A copy of Passport

3. A recommendation letter

4. A copy of legalize name change certificate (if any)

5. A copy of transcript

6. English proficiency documents such as TOFEL {≥500 (Paper-based); or ≥173 (Computer-based); or ≥61 (Internet-based)} or IELTS {≥ 5.5 (all band scores ≥4.0} will be used to determine applicant is English proficiency.

7. A certificate of student status (issued by the home university registrar office)

8. Bank statement (For non-MOU participants)

At International College, we learn a lot of topics that we didn’t learn in schools. We gain so much information from experts and researchers. Friends are one of the most important elements in college, and I have met good friends, not just in class but when we play sports. We enjoy the learning and extra activities together. Overall, KKUIC gives us an experience, which is great for our life and worth our time.

Studying a major of International Affairs at KKUIC is incredibly helpful in current situation in my country. International Affairs is a diverse Degree, which allows me to investigate the complexities of relations between different countries and apply this understanding to the world of work and environmental issue. We meet weekly to discuss current events about global issues, and international and domestic politics. This year, we mainly focus on the global economic, international trade and international political economy. We also have learnt a lot of intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations such as the United Nation (UN), the European Union (EU), World Bank and Greenpeace.Therefore, many individual students who studies the Course have a deeply personal motivation to make the world a better place, to improve lives around the world and to achieve their personal goals.

One of my best experiences in KKUIC is the opportunity to travel to many places with our friends. When I was in first year, ajarn Irene organized a trip to Bangkok to the EU delegation, to meet the EU ambassador. In my opinion, that trip was one of the best because we have good accommodations, the hotel was nice, experiencing bangkok city life, however, in the second year we went on a trip again to ban Na Bua, Nakhon Phanom to visit the locals which once was a communist insurgents. The environment was totally different from the first trip, we did a lot of activities, like painting the walls, watch the locals to traditional dance and others, getting to know more about their culture. In the end both trips were amazing.

High school’s and university’s lives are very different. Studying at KKUIC is really good especially studying in International Affairs because it is not a study only about theory but also how to use the knowledge that we learn to apply in real life and teaching how to view the world in different ways. There are a lot of things that we don’t know, and studying in IA major motivates me to be more curious of and interested in what is happening in our world. The important experience that I have learned is that we should follow the rules strictly and carefully because if you do it wrong or break the rules, it will cause really negative effects in your life and you might not be able to solve it. It is important to accept the mistakes that you made and learn from them and do not repeat them.Finally, every lecturer at KKUIC is really helping me to improve and motivate myself in order to have a good future and also trying to understand me when I make mistakes.
