KKUIC Students Secure 3rd Place Globally at IABMS International Association of Business Management Simulation in Hong Kong

On June 6, 2026, student representatives from Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC), led by Assoc.Prof. Dr. Chavis Ketkaew, Program Director of M.Sc. International Technology and Innovation Management and Assoc. Prof. Phaninee Naruetharadhol, Ph.D. Director of Center for Sustainable Innovation and Society (SIS), achieved a historic milestone on the global stage by winning 3rd place worldwide at The International Association of Business Management Simulations (IABMS). The prestigious event was held at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), a world-class institution ranked in the Top 50 of the QS World University Rankings 2026.

From National Triumph to Global Recognition: The KKUIC team was invited to the international summit as the official student representatives of Thailand following their outstanding performance at the Thailand Macro Business Simulation 2026, where they successfully advanced to the Upper Bracket Round. Despite it being their first time competing using a business simulation program—which requires complex data analysis and strategic decision-making—the team demonstrated exceptional capability, earning their ticket to compete against the world’s best in Hong Kong.

Conquering the Global Stage: The international competition challenged participants to manage businesses via simulation software and present strategic solutions for real-world business case studies before a panel of distinguished international experts. The KKUIC team impressed the judges with their critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and cross-cultural communication skills, ultimately securing the 3rd place global ranking during the college’s inaugural participation.
Empowering Future Leaders: This achievement significantly boosts the international reputation of Khon Kaen University and showcases the high caliber of KKUIC students. By participating in this global event, students developed essential 21st-century skills. The valuable insights and experiences gained will be shared with future generations of students to inspire sustainable business concepts and innovations for society.
