INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION MANAGEMENT

M.Sc. in International Technology and Innovation Management

The program focuses on producing Master’s graduates who have skills and creativity in innovation development that meet the present world’s consumer needs. Meanwhile, this program allows the students to explore how to develop a high-value innovative product that responds to the market demand and enhances a customer experience. The graduates may become skillful next-generation entrepreneurs or work in the modern industrial sector.

The program emphasizes integrating knowledge in business, technology, and innovation management. All instructions and activities are in English to support Thai and international entrepreneurs and employees of modern businesses at the national or international level.

Students can choose to pursue the following areas of emphasis: 1) Marketing Channel Innovation, 2) Multimedia and Information Technology Innovation, 3) Food and Agricultural Innovation, 4) Environmental Sustainability and Innovation, and 5) Material Science Innovation. In the Study Abroad Track (optional), students can spend their last semester studying and conducting their research at University of Southern Denmark. This program was established under the collaboration of International College, Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Technology, and Science Park.

Here are some highlights of this program.

Modern Trend – This program is suitable for an entrepreneur or an employee of a modern industrial sector who wishes to innovate a new product, implement new technology into an organization, and enhance the customer experience.

Time Saving – The program duration is only 1.5 years (3 semesters). Students may choose to spend their last semester in the Study Abroad Track doing the coursework and conducting their thesis at University of Southern Denmark.

The 4+1 Program – This program is offered for only KKUIC students in the 3rd year to become 4th year. The students will take 4 courses from the M.Sc. ITIM’s curriculum in advance during their 4th year and will later spend only 1 year to complete the M.Sc. ITIM curriculum.

Career Opportunities

Master’s graduates can work as private business owners, advisors for product innovation and business operations, academicians and researchers in product development and innovation, and the founders of enterprises related to production, innovation, and business administration fields.

What You Study ?

M.Sc. in International Technology and Innovation Management provides 3 study plans with 5 electives modules, and an optional study
abroad program.

Track 1: IS Plan (Plan B)

This is a non-thesis program. Students also need to complete 6 required courses (18 credits), 4 elective module courses (12 credits), and an independent study course (6 credits).

Track 2: Regular Thesis Plan
(Plan A2)

This plan consists of 6 required courses (18 credits) and 2 courses selected from the list of elective modules (6 credits). Students also need to enroll in a thesis course (12 credits).

Track 3: Intensive Thesis Plan
(Plan A1)

This plan consists of a thesis course with a minimum credit of 36. The program may assign the study of some courses or non-credits courses.

1. Degree Requirements

To qualify for admission, a candidate should have a relevant degree on a Bachelor’s level, for instance:
Bachelor of Business Administration (any major areas)
Bachelor of Science/Technology (any major areas)
Bachelor of Engineering (any major areas)
Bachelor of Communication Arts/Arts (any major areas)

2. English Language Requirements

This international master’s degree program is entirely taught in English. Therefore, a candidate should have sufficient English capacity to communicate effectively while pursuing this study program. The candidate can prove his/her proficiency in English in many ways:

1) A candidate who is graduating (completed his/her Bachelor’s degree requirements) or has completed a related Bachelor’s degree program taught in English (an international program in Thailand or abroad) is exempt from submitting an English language certificate.
2) A candidate can submit an English language certificate directly to KKUIC. The acceptable test results include IELTS (minimum of 5.5), TOEFL (minimum of 46-59).
3) A candidate without evidence of 1) and 2) can apply. However, the candidate may be accepted to the program under the condition that he/she must pass the KKU Graduate School’s English language proficiency test by the end of the first semester.

3. Statement of Purpose (SoP)

An SoP demonstrates your academic background and your skills relevant to this degree program. It also involves your career goals and what you are aiming for. A candidate must write an SoP (700-900 words) and submit this as part of their application.

4. Reference Suggestion

Two referees are requested to provide recommendation letters. The referees could be your lecturers or job supervisors. You will be asked to supply the referee’s names and emails. Our application platform will then automatically contact your referees.

This program takes a minimum of 1.5 years (3 semesters), including coursework and an independent study/thesis and study abroad program (optional).
Thai students incur a tuition fee of 50,000 THB per semester.
International students incur a fee of 65,000 THB per semester (tuition fee of 50,000 THB plus international student fee of 15,000 THB).

This program takes a minimum of 1.5 years (3 semesters), including coursework and an independent study/thesis and study abroad program (optional).
