Miss Natcha Laepong, a 3rd-year student from the International Relations and Diplomacy program, KKUIC, was selected as one of 10 teams out of 150 teams in Thailand, who made it to the final round of the “Youth 2030” competition. Also, she’s the winner of the outstanding presentation on sustainable development goals (SDGs) and received a cash prize of 20,000 Baht with an honorary certificate and trophy from the Prime Minister, as the winner in the “Economic and Wealth” dimension.
On Saturday, February 17, 2024, the Office of the National Economics and Social Development Council (NESDC) organized the “Thailand’s SDGs Hackathon: Mobilizing Ideas for Sustainable Development” competition in which participants presented their projects and competed for the championship. The event took place at the Virtual Media Lab, Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC), and Bangkok Post Building, Thailand. Dr. Wanchat Suwansinakit, Deputy Secretary-General of NESDC, and representatives from the network participated in the event and served as judges. Thailand’s SDGs Hackathon is a continuation of the “Stepping Forward” initiative, which NESDC organizes every year.
The promotion and creation of awareness regarding sustainable development is a matter of great importance directed by the Prime Minister. He has awarded trophies and certificates to the winners of a short film production competition focusing on creative content about sustainable development. The competition was conducted through the TikTok platform with more than 150 teams participating. The selection process resulted in the final 10 teams (2 members each) who were chosen to join the Incubation Programme. This program aims to enhance knowledge and understanding of the SDGs, including media production and content creation. The teams will utilize the acquired knowledge to develop their projects and present them to the committee.
The judging committee consists of (1) Dr. Wanchat Suwansinakit, Deputy Secretary-General of NESDB, (2) Khun Jomkwan Pinyowit, Representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, (3) Dr. Thanyaporn Krittiyavuth, Director of the Thai Global Compact Network, (4) Khun Arsa Phiukham, Representative from the Office of Creative Economy Agency, (5) Khun Songklod Bangyikhan, Executive Editor of The Cloud, and (6) Khun Erica Maesincee Chen, Founder of the Youth In Charge platform.

- Peace and Institution Dimension (Peace): Team “Change your mind” whose presentation on violence in educational institutions.
- Partnership Dimension (Partnership): Team “หมู่เฮา_official” whose presentation on knowledge related to SDGs targets.
