KKUIC Signs LoI to Strengthen Academic Ties in Kunming, China

On June 20, 2025, Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC) signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Kunming Dianchi Pan-Asian Cultural Research Association Society in Kunming, China. This signing was part of KKUIC’s 2025 Staff Retreat, held from June 18–21 in Kunming and Dali. During the retreat, both parties engaged in discussions to explore future educational and cultural collaborations.

The KKUIC delegation was led by the Dean, Associate Dean for Education and Human Resources Management, Associate Dean for Marketing Communication and Student Empowerment, Division Chair of the Creative Lifelong Learning Curriculum, a Lecturer from the General Education Division, and the International Relations Officer. As part of the visit, the delegation toured the Yunnan Military Academy Museum under which is under the care of the Kunming Dianchi Pan-Asian Cultural Research Association Society to gain insights into the region’s rich historical background.

The KKUIC team was warmly welcomed by representatives of the Kunming Dianchi Pan-Asian Cultural Research Association Society, including Gao Jun (Acting President and Secretary-General), Dai Zhuming (Vice President), Lin Li (Deputy Secretary-General), Yang Yinghui (Director of the Office and President of the Yunnan Military Academy Research Society), Shi Min (Director of the Cultural Innovation Center), and Zhang Lili (Deputy Director of the Cultural Innovation Center).

The LOI was officially signed by the Dean of KKUIC and the Acting President and Secretary-General of the Kunming Dianchi Society. The agreement marks the beginning of efforts to expand academic and cultural partnerships between Thailand and China, including initiatives aimed at attracting full-time students and developing other mutually beneficial collaborations.

Both institutions expressed hope that this meeting will lead to a fruitful and sustainable partnership in the near future under both visions and missions.
