During April 18-20, 2025, Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC) successfully completed educational missions in China, strengthening international partnerships and promoting Thai higher education opportunities. The visit included strategic meetings in Chengdu and participation in a major educational exhibition in Guangzhou called “The 30 China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET 2025)”.

The three-member delegation was led by Dr. Wei Yang, Department Chair of Arts, Social Sciences, and Linguistics Department, accompanied by Asst. Prof. Khwanjira Ponsree, Assistant Dean for Creative Marketing Communication and Organizational Image, and Ms. Jittima Kraisriwattana, Division Chair of Creative Lifelong Learning Curriculum, Center for International Creative Lifelong Learning (ICL).
Collaboration Discussions in Chengdu
On April 18, 2025, the first leg of the mission focused on potential academic partnerships in Chengdu, where the team visited the Polus International College. During this visit, the KKUIC representatives engaged in productive discussions with the Director of International Affairs regarding possible cooperation between Polus International College, KKUIC, and Center for International Creative Lifelong Learning (ICL).
The delegation also met with the Management Team of Polus International College Affiliated High School to explore pathways for Chinese students to study at KKUIC. A comprehensive campus tour provided insights into Polus’s facilities and educational environment, helping both institutions identify areas for potential collaboration.

These face-to-face meetings are invaluable for establishing meaningful international partnerships. We’re particularly excited about the possibility of student and faculty exchanges, lifelong learning opportunities, and creating seamless educational pathways between our institutions.

Showcasing KKUIC and ICL at CIEET 2025
Following their engagements in Chengdu, the delegation traveled to Guangzhou to participate in the prestigious China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET 2025), held at the Dong Fang Hotel Guangzhou on April 20. The team set up an exhibition booth showcasing KKUIC and ICL’s diverse program offerings, international learning environment, and unique educational approach. Throughout the day-long exhibition, they engaged with prospective students, parents, teachers, and representatives from other institutions.

This China visit aligns with KKUIC’s broader mission of sustainable educational transformation and internationalization. By establishing connections with Chinese educational institutions and directly engaging with prospective students, the college aims to diversify its student body and enrich the learning experience for all students.
The KKUIC team returned to Thailand on April 21, bringing back valuable insights and potential partnership opportunities that will contribute to the college’s continuing development as a hub for international education in Southeast Asia.
