KKUIC Champions Sustainability at the Lower Mekong Region Stakeholders’ Meeting

Khon Kaen University – International College (KKUIC) proudly participated in the Lower Mekong Region Sustainable Development Stakeholders’ Meeting and Discussion, reaffirming its commitment to fostering international collaboration and sustainability leadership.

Led by Ms. Rapeepan Phittayadilok, Assistant Dean for Planning and Organizational Excellence, Dr. Tu Anh Nguyen Thi, International Development Program Committee and KKUIC student representative, the delegation actively engaged with experts and stakeholders from across the region. Through its collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and its ongoing MoU with Can Tho University, KKUIC strengthened its efforts to align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework.

At the Lower Mekong Region Sustainable Development Stakeholders’ Meeting, Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC) demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and international collaboration. Led by Ms. Rapeepan Phittayadilok and Dr. Tu Anh Nguyen Thi, the delegation engaged with regional experts and stakeholders, reinforcing KKUIC’s alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By establishing networks such as the Youth-Centred UK-Mekong Actions for Sustainability, KKUIC actively promotes collaboration among diverse stakeholders. This focus on partnerships is particularly significant in relation to SDG 17, which aims to enhance global cooperation and ensure that no one is left behind in the pursuit of sustainable development. Through these efforts, KKUIC not only empowers its students but also plays a crucial role in driving impactful change across the Lower Mekong Region.

  • Youth-Led Initiatives and Exhibitions: Students from the International Affairs Program showcased innovative, youth-driven climate projects under initiatives like CoRe, Y-CoRe, and Climate Skills, offering creative solutions to climate change adaptation.
  • Knowledge Exchange and Expert Panels: International experts from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and the UK led discussions on pressing issues like greenhouse gas reduction, water security, sustainable livelihoods, and gender inclusiveness.
  • Youth-Centred Networking: The establishment of the Youth-Centred UK-Mekong Actions for Sustainability network encouraged collaboration and joint actions among regional stakeholders.
  • Case Study Presentations and Dialogues: Real-world case studies on transboundary development challenges provided valuable insights for participants.
