KKUIC Bridges Interdisciplinary Perspectives for Sustainable Development (SDGs) at the 8th TICC International Conference.

On February 1-2, 2024, Khon Kaen University International College, led by the Dean’s Representative, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chavis Ketkaew – Associate Dean for Strategy, Research, and International Affairs, together with professors, researchers, staff, and students affiliated with Khon Kaen University International College, participated in the 8th TICC International Conference titled “Integrating Perspectives from Different Disciplines for Current and Emerging Society Needs towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” held at Swissotel Bangkok Ratchada, Bangkok.

The Thailand International College Consortium International Conference (TICC International Conference) is an academic forum organized by the Thailand International College Consortium (TICC), which was established in the year 2014, led by Prof. Dr. La-orsri Sanoamuang – Dean of KKUIC at that time.

The objective of this conference is to provide an opportunity for academics, researchers, industry professionals, local and regional organizations, government agencies, and students to gather and exchange new ideas, knowledge, and practices that can be applied in daily life and office. Also, it aims to promote sustainability and address national and global problems. The TICC International Conference is held once a year starting from 2015, with each member institution taking turns as the host, and others as co-hosts every year.
This year, the 8th TICC International Conference is hosted by the International College for Sustainable Studies, Srinakharinwirot University, led by Dr. Thanakorn Thongprayoon – Dean of the International College for Sustainability Studies. The opening ceremony included keynote speeches on the topic of “Internationalization for Sustainable Education and Society” by Professor Dr. Judith Sharkey – Professor in Education from the College of Liberal Arts, University of New Hampshire, and “BCG-based Soft Power Tourism: Paradigm Shift for Thailand Sustainable Tourism Development?” by Professor Dr. Therdchai Choibanroong Chumchuay – lecturer in the Graduation School of Tourism Management, National Institute of Development Administration.
After, participants were separated into minor meeting rooms to present their papers on relevant topics. These topics covered various areas of Business and Economy, Technology and Innovation, Logistics, Tourism, and Hospitality, as well as Culture, Education, and Wellness. In this regard, Miss Lakkana Hengboriboon – KKUIC’s lecturer in Business Administration Division, International Marketing Major, achieved the “Best Paper Award” for her presentation on “The Factors That Affect Learning Performance in Operation Management Class: The Case of Business Student.”
During the final session of the 8th TICC International Conference, there was the TICC flag handover ceremony to Silpakorn University International College which will be the main host of the TICC International Conference that will be held next year. Additionally, souvenirs were presented to the representatives of the 7 partner institutes before closing the event completely.
