The International College of Khon Kaen University took part in the KKU Songkran Festival 2025, helping to preserve Isan cultural heritage through the “Fifth Month Merit-Making, Buddha Procession, and Elder Reverence Ceremony.” The college also served on the judging committee for the Miss Songkran pageant organized by the Faculty of Medicine.

Led by Asst. Prof. Sirimonbhorn Thipsingh, Dean of the International College, along with college staff, the participation aimed to maintain the “Heet Sip Song” (twelve traditions) and highlight the cultural values of the region. This involvement demonstrates the importance of preserving Thai traditions, particularly the Fifth Month Merit-Making ceremony, which is considered a significant tradition of the Northeastern region that Khon Kaen University has continuously observed and practiced.
