KKUIC visits Vietnam to enhance educational collaboration, aiming for modern learning innovations

KKUIC, led by Asst. Prof. Sirimonbhorn Thipsingh, Dean, Khon Kaen University International College, had the honor of participating in a traveling council meeting along with the executive team and members of the Khon Kaen University Council, aimed at advancing strategic international cooperation. On February 4, 2026, from 13:30 to 16:30, a seminar titled “Economic Narratives of Two Countries: Thailand and Vietnam—A Comparative Perspective” was held at the Diplomatic Institute of Vietnam to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Thai-Vietnamese diplomatic relations. The event began with introductions of the speakers, followed by presentations on the political and economic backgrounds of both countries, and concluded with discussions on current economic development policies, including a general discussion and Q&A session.

On February 5, 2026, in Hanoi, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the visit aimed to exchange ideas on modern educational management and strengthen diplomatic-academic relations with a focus on curriculum reform through the concept of “Industry-led Education.”
The mission began with a study visit to FPT Corporation, the largest technology group in Vietnam, and FPT University, a strong academic partner of the International College at Khon Kaen University. Both institutions have previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and engaged in tangible collaborative activities such as student exchange programs.
This visit reaffirmed the relationship and explored the success model of FPT University, founded by the business sector, with a graduate employment rate of 94%. The success derives from an Industry-Relevant strategy that designs curricula based on market demands, ensuring that students are not just learning theory but are being prepared for real-world work environments modeled after global software companies. The team was warmly welcomed by Mr. Prajith Nair, Vice President of FPT Software, along with management and staff, and discussions covered three areas: Business Administration, Social Sciences, Digital and Innovation, and Health Sciences.
To encompass all dimensions during this visit, in the afternoon, the Dean of the International College, along with executives from various faculties, expanded strategic collaboration at VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of VNU-USSH, graciously welcomed the team, resulting in discussions to elevate academic cooperation from faculty to university levels, addressing important academic and cultural dimensions. This included student and faculty exchange programs, establishing international internship networks, joint research and publication on shared interests, and co-hosting special events to celebrate Thai-Vietnamese diplomatic relations as a foundation for fostering cultural understanding between the two countries.
The International College of Khon Kaen University has established strategic partnerships with FPT University and VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities during this visit to Vietnam, focusing on knowledge exchange and new educational management approaches. This initiative promotes internship opportunities and exchange programs while developing curricula that meet market demands, preparing students for the modern world.
