Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC) successfully organized the “Chiang Khan Cultural & Community Learning Trip 2025,” creating lasting memories and deep cultural connections for a diverse group of international students.
Held from December 4–6, 2025, in the picturesque district of Chiang Khan, Loei Province, this immersive trip was spearheaded by the International Relations Office. The primary goal was to welcome and integrate exchange students from five partner nations: Japan, Denmark, France, Germany, and Vietnam, offering them a genuine taste of Thailand beyond the classroom.
The three-day journey was more than just sightseeing; it was a deep dive into the heart of the Northeast (Isan). Students had the unique opportunity to explore the rich heritage of the Tai Dam community, a cultural group with distinct traditions and history. Through hands-on activities and community interaction, the international students learned about local lifestyles, weaving, and traditional customs, fostering a profound appreciation for the region’s diversity.
Beyond the cultural lessons, the students were captivated by the serene atmosphere along the Mekong River. The charm of Chiang Khan’s walking street and the breathtaking river views provided the perfect backdrop for building friendships. Students from different continents bonded over shared experiences, bridging language barriers and cultural differences.
This activity reflects KKUIC’s commitment to not only academic excellence but also to fostering global citizenship. By immersing students in local communities, the college aims to strengthen cross-cultural understanding and create a welcoming environment where international students feel truly connected to Thailand and to each other.
