Financial Support

Eligibility

  • Be a KKUIC student with student ID starting with 65 or earlier and hold normal (status 10) registration.

  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.50 or meet the host institution’s requirements.

  • Demonstrate English proficiency at CEFR B2 or higher.

  • Show good command of the program’s language of instruction.

  • Hold a valid passport (valid for at least 6 months).

  • Be in good physical and mental health.

  • Be able to cover other costs not funded by the scholarship.

  • Be willing to share experiences with other students after the program ends.

  • Language test results of other relevant languages (if any)

  • Student Mobility Committee.

Disbursement

Scholarships are transferred to the recipient’s Thai bank account after receiving official acceptance from the host institution. Processing takes 1–2 weeks after all documents are submitted.

International Learning Experience

KKU Mobility Scholarship

Khon Kaen University (KKU) invites the KKU undergraduate students to apply for the International Learning Experience Scholarship for the Academic Year 2025 The Scholarship aims to support, encourage Khon Kaen University’s undergraduate students to develop to be desirable, visionary, and globally competent graduates

Eligibility

  • Must be a KKU undergraduate student with a cumulative grade point average of not lower than 2.50 and still hold the student status all through the duration of the activity.

  • Must have the skill to communicate in English or the language of the country where the activity take place.

  • Must take responsibility over the supplementary expenses other than those supported by the University.

  • In case the activity takes place in an institution abroad, parental consent is required.

  • Must be free from physical and mental health problems.

  • Must be able to participate in other university’s learning exchange and reflection activities for sharing experiences with other students.

Duration of Activity Participation

  • On-site Activity: the applicant must participate one(1) week or more.

  • Virtual Activity: the applicant must participate twelve(12) hours or more.

Budget and Scholarship Allocation

  • Onsite Activity (Activity takes place at the Foreign Institution)

The allocation for Lao PDR, Cambodia, Vietnam
Less than 2 weeks: Not more than 10,000 baht
2-8 weeks: Not more than 20,000 baht
More than 8 weeks: Not more than 30,000 baht <br>

  • Onsite & Virtual Activity (Integrated): Allocating based on the on-site activity in clause 2.1 and 2.2

The Types of Activity

  • The activity must relate to the field the student is studying and must be certified by the Faculty

  • Enrollment or participation in the relate course(s)

  • Internship, academic, or professional training

  • Academic activities

  • Academic exchange

  • Art and cultural exchange

  • Activities promoting the awareness of KKU

Application Deadline

The application and all relevant document must be submitted no later than 15 February 2025 (1st batch)
and no later than 15 July 2025 (2nd batch).
Late submission or incomplete forms/documents will be automatically deleted from the system and will not be considered

Documents Required
for Application

  • A letter of consent from the Dean

  • A parental letter of consent in case the activity takes place abroad

  • Evidence of registration or participation receipt

  • A copy of the acceptance or invitation letter from the foreign Institution

  • A copy of academic transcript
    One photograph

  • Original copy of student status certificate of Khon Kaen University

  • A curriculum Vitae(CV) or Resume

  • A copy of MOU or MOA with foreign institutions (if applicable)

  • Other documents such as the TOEFL/IELTS English Proficiency Test Result (if applicable)

Other Scholarships and Supports

UMAP (University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific)

A regional mobility scheme among Asia-Pacific universities designed to strengthen student exchange and intercultural understanding. Tuition at the host university is waived.

Amount: Up to USD 800 for super short-term programs (in addition to tuition waiver).
Eligibility: Thai undergraduate students enrolled at UMAP member universities and nominated by their home university.

Erasmus+ / Erasmus Mundus (European Union)

An EU program that promotes student mobility, allowing international students to join exchange semesters or research placements at European universities.

Amount: Approx. €850 per month living allowance + travel allowance, with tuition waived at the host.
Eligibility: Thai undergraduate students at universities with Erasmus+ partner agreements.

ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS)

An ASEAN program to strengthen regional collaboration and student mobility. It provides opportunities to study for a semester at another ASEAN (and partner) university.

Amount: Tuition waiver, monthly living allowance, travel support, and insurance (amount varies by host).
Eligibility: Thai undergraduate students at ASEAN participating universities.

Thai Government & TICA Short-Term Training Scholarships

Scholarships provided by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) to support training and short academic programs abroad. Aimed at building skills and international exposure.

Amount: Varies by program – may include training fees, accommodation, and partial living support.
Eligibility: Mostly postgraduate students and professionals; some short courses may occasionally be open to outstanding Thai undergraduates.

JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization)

A scholarship from the Japanese government that supports international students on short-term exchange programs in Japan. Its goal is to ease living costs so students can focus on study and cultural experience.

Amount: ¥80,000 per month (approx. USD 550).
Eligibility: Thai undergraduate students nominated by their home university for a short-term exchange (8 days – 1 year).

Canada–ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED)

A Canadian government program that supports ASEAN students to study or do short-term research in Canada, strengthening development cooperation.

Amount: CAD 10,200 (1 term, 4 months) or CAD 15,900 (2 terms, 8 months). Covers airfare, visa, living costs, and insurance.
Eligibility: Thai undergraduate students applying for short-term study or research placements in Canada.
