The British Ambassador to Thailand Visited the KKUIC, to Meet our Staff, Students and to Deliver a Special Lecture on “Thai-UK Relations”

On October 1, 2025, the International College of KKU, welcomed His Excellency Mr. Mark Gooding OBE, British Ambassador to Thailand, along with representatives from the British Embassy, as well as Mr. Danny Whitehead Director of the British Council and his delegates.
The welcoming party included KKU’s Asst. Prof. Dr. Atcharawan Tobphakdee, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, Asst. Prof. Sirimonporn Tipsing, Dean of the International College, along with executives, faculty members, and students, who all warmly received and interacted with the distinguished guests.
On this occasion, the Ambassador delivered a special lecture on “Thai-UK Relations” in celebration of the 170th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.. This Khon Kaen visit is part of a United Kingdom sponsored roadshow, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations across various dimensions, particularly in education, science, research, innovation, and international relations.
KKU and the International College were honored to welcome the Ambassador, as this was an occasion to not only celebrate the long-standing friendship and rich multi-level Thai-UK history of cooperation, but also an opportunity to showcase the growing collaboration between KKU and UK institutions of higher learning. For both nations, education is a cornerstone of our joint cultural heritage. This visit also benefits our students by broadening their perspectives on international relations, while also highlighting KKU’s role and reputation as a truly international
