Sticky Rice Fighters Level Up! KKUIC Secures TTALAB R&D Grant for Sustainable Innovation

Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC) proudly extends its congratulations and best wishes to a team of third-year students who have successfully advanced to the next stage of the national TTALAB Gen2 project. The team, affectionately known as the “Sticky Rice Fighters,” has been officially selected as Trainees, securing a crucial Research & Development (R&D) grant to further develop their pioneering innovation.

The five accomplished students, all majoring in International Entrepreneurship, showcased exceptional vision and dedication during the national Grand Event (Finalist) round of the TTALAB project. We celebrate the success of these bright minds:

  • Ms. Chalanda Sodasri
  • Mr. Tapanun Jinuntuya
  • Ms. Napapa Phalachaikul
  • Ms. Montlada Sriphukdee
  • Ms. Nutchanat Tarnjua

The TTALAB program, established by Mr. Chalermchai Mahagitsiri under the Thoresen Thai Agencies (TTA) company, is a vital initiative dedicated to empowering Thai youth (aged 15–25) to create sustainable, community-focused innovations that contribute directly to SDGs Localization (Sustainable Development Goals).

The “Sticky Rice Fighters” impressed the national committee with their innovative product concept: “From Phaam – Water Lentil Granola Bar.” This innovation centers on utilizing “ไข่ผำ” (Phaam)—a highly nutritious local aquatic plant—to develop a healthy, sustainable food product. This concept not only promotes the consumption of valuable local resources but also provides a direct benefit to community livelihoods and local farmers.

By securing the Trainee status and the accompanying R&D grant, the students are now poised to upgrade their project from a concept to a market-ready reality. Their achievement highlights KKUIC’s commitment to fostering international entrepreneurs who prioritize both business success and social responsibility. Congratulations to all the students on this outstanding milestone!
