On April 29, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., the International College of Khon Kaen University hosted a press conference to officially launch the “Love on Track Charity Run 2026” — a charity running event aimed at promoting heart health and improving access to cardiac treatment for patients in need.
The event was presided over by Dr. Pattanapong Toparkngarm, Department Chair of BBA, Innovation, and Applied Science at the International College, Khon Kaen University. The ceremony was also honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Pattarapong Makarawate MD, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, and Director of the Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast, who spoke on the importance of heart health care.
During the event, organizers presented the project’s objectives, which focus on promoting health awareness and raising public consciousness about heart disease through a running activity that combines wellness, fun, and giving. Participants can choose between 5-kilometer and 9-kilometer distances, making it suitable for both beginners and regular runners.
The organizing team also clarified how the proceeds will be managed. A portion of the net revenue — after expenses — will be donated to fund the purchase of EKG monitoring equipment to support children with congenital heart disease, helping to expand their access to medical treatment and improve their quality of life.
This project also reflects the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of good health and well-being, while providing students with valuable hands-on learning experiences in planning, management, and teamwork.
The organizing committee extends its sincere gratitude to the presiding officer, all distinguished guests, and members of the media for attending the event.
